discoveryadweb.jpgIn the midst of all the holiday hubbub, have you ever found yourself wondering where the real meaning of Christmas went? If so, Repackaging the Holidays is for you.

Join the Rev. Dr. Linda Malia from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. David’s, West Seneca on Thursday, November 20, as she leads a meditative exploration to help you reconnect with the spiritual meaning of Advent and the Christmas season.

Through a series of short meditations, each followed by time for small group reflection, you'll have the opportunity to confront the exasperations and celebrate the joys of the Christmas experience. We’ll examine Christmas in scripture with the intent of drawing from it better ways to celebrate Christ’s birth. Finally, we’ll discuss practical ideas you can implement at home—ideas that will help you and your family keep the true meaning of Christmas first in your hearts throughout the upcoming season.

you'll enjoy a steaming mug of cocoa and a sampling of homemade holiday treats. You’ll receive a CRISmas Kit (Christmas: Repackage It Simple) to take home that includes materials for a simple Advent wreath, a booklet of prayers and meditations, alternative gift sources and the recipes for all the Christmas treats served at the event.

The cost person is $10 and includes all materials and snacks.

Enjoy the wisdom and wit of the Rev. Jerre Feagin, as he leads an exploration of simplicity that is sure to prompt some life-changing New Year’s resolutions. Simple desserts will be served, including Jerre’s famous Pecan Pie which he describes as, “Simple to make, simple to eat and simple to get fat on!”
