Western New York communication efforts received honors in April at the
Polly Bond Awards ceremony held during the 35th annual Episcopal
Communicators Conference in Seattle, WA.
Earning an Award of Excellence in the regional organization division was the Episcopal Community Services 2007 Campaign Brochure: One Community, One Call, written and designed by Laurie Wozniak. The home page of Western New York’s website launched in December 2007, which was designed and written by Laurie with technical assistance provided by Bill Joseph, received an Honorable Mention in the web division. In the newspaper division for dioceses with circulations below 12,000, Laurie’s “There but for the Grace of God” column also received an honorable mention. In addition, InProv 2, for which Laurie is editor, designer and primary writer, received three Honorable Mentions for writing and graphic design in the Regional Organization division of the newsletter category. InProv 2 is the newsletter of Province II of the Episcopal Church. The Polly Bond Awards, named for one of the founders of Episcopal Communicators, are sponsored by the organization each year to recognize special achievement in Episcopal Church communication. Judges are communication professionals recruited from academia and the secular media. |
