The 171^st Convention of the Diocese of WNY will be held on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 at the Millennium Hotel on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga, NY. The first business session will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Convention Eucharist is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The following elections will be held:

Standing Committee

• One lay person for a 4-year term
• One cleric for a 4-year term

(Members of the Commission on Ministry may not serve concurrently on Standing Committee.) 

Trustees

• Two lay persons, each for a 3-year term

(Members of the Standing Committee may not serve concurrently as Trustees. Ms. Sandra O'Loughlin and Mr. Thomas Lunt are eligible for re-election.) 

Episcopal Community Services Board

• Four lay persons, each for a 3-year term
• Two clerics, each for a 3-year term
• One cleric for a 1-year term

(Current board members eligible for re-election in the lay order are Irene Greene, Cheryl Rohde and Karran Swayze. Current board members eligible for re-election in the clerical order are Judith Lee and William Wipfler.) 

Ecclesiastical Court

• One cleric for a 5-year term

Devoted, capable individuals who are willing to extend their service to Christ beyond the local parish to the wider Church are needed for all of these positions. We ask all members of the diocese to prayerfully consider whether they themselves or someone they know is called to these positions.
