At its January 17th meeting, Diocesan Council received a report from the Recruitment Team regarding their work towards establishing seven of the eight revitalization teams that were approved by Diocesan Convention last October.
The report, written by Recruitment Team co-chair Lois Carter, noted that co-convenors for the seven teams have been identified to facilitate each team’s first meeting. It further recommended that each team develop and name their own co-chairs, unless otherwise specified. The committee strove to balance the membership of each team with regard to gender, clergy / laity and age and was especially mindful of seeking youth representation for each team. Securing adequate representation from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus deaneries was difficult, but the committee remains “hopeful that this will happen.”
The Recruitment Team will meet again in February for the specific purpose of identifying members for the eighth team whose focus will be Youth Revitalization.
Membership on all teams remains open, and any member of the diocese wishing to serve on any one of them is urged to contact the Very Rev. Earle King at 716.773.3335.

Several years ago, after exploring the possibility of relocating the diocesan office, it was decided the needs of the diocese would be best served by remaining at 1114 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo. Subsequently, a building and grounds committee began meeting to assess and repair the building’s problems and to establish a plan for its continued upkeep and maintenance. The committee is currently comprised of Lorraine Hapeman, Howard Gondree, Glenn Lowry and Ernie Montgomery.
