Diocese Meets for 170th Convention |

Delegates from 63 Episcopal Churches across Western New York will gather on Friday and Saturday, October 26 & 27 at the Holiday Inn in Grand Island, New York. This meeting marks the diocese's 170th year.
Convention anticipates two special reports. One will be from the State of the Diocese Committee. The bulk of this
informative report appears in the October issue of Church Acts. The
other will come from the Futures Committee.

Bishop's Reflection on HOB Meeting |

 More than 150 bishops of The Episcopal Church and their spouses
recently gathered in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the fall meeting of
the House of Bishops. We were joined for a significant period of time
by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Rowan Williams, and the
majority of the members of the Joint Standing Committee of the Anglican
Consultative Council and the Primates' Meeting. As well as dealing with
Anglican Communion matters, we spent time with the people of the
Dioceses of Louisiana and Mississippi as they continue to recover from
the devastation visited upon them more than two years ago by Hurricane
Katrina.
