- Why is God important?
God is important to me because God is the one being in the universe I can count on to stick around! Think about it: Sooner or later all people die. Sooner or later all animals die. Even mountains wear down and stars burn out, given enough time! The only being who won't die is God. That makes God special, in my opinion.
God will always be there for me—and when I die, God will still be there for me. Since God has seen it all, from the beginning of time, I trust God's wisdom.
Besides, you just gotta love someone who could invent penguins!
Last Updated Wednesday, March 05, 2008 - What is Christianity?
People all over the world and throughout time have tried to understand God and have tried to share what they have experienced of God. The different religions are different ways of thinking about God. We have Christianity because a lot of people think and feel that the best way to understand God is by looking at Jesus Christ and what he said about God.
People who think Jesus Christ is important for understanding God call themselves "Christians". The most distinctive thing about Christians is their belief that Jesus wasn't just a very good man, wise teacher and holy prophet, but that he was, in fact, God incarnate, which means "God in human form".
Christianity more than just a way of thinking about God, however. It is also a way of living out your life and relating to God and to other people.

Last Updated Wednesday, March 05, 2008 - What is a faithful servant?
Being a faithful servant of God means living like you trust God and believe that God knows best how you should live. God wants us to live life with justice, compassion, mercy and hope. If you trust that, you'll try to live like that.
Faithful servants of God know that everything they are and everything they have comes from God, and actually belongs to God, so they try to live in such a way that their lives reflect God's values. We are to love God with everything we've got, love others and love ourselves. When we mess up, we are to face that, admit it, apologize for it and do what we can to repair the damage we've cuased—and then go back to trying to live the way we're supposed to.
